U.s. Marine Contractor Begins Manufacturing On Platform 29/02/2008

Construction has already started on the PP-Maloob-C platform for Mexican state oil caompany Pemex E&P subsidiary PEP it was announced by BNamericas. The US $34.6 million contract includes the procurement, construction, testing, transport and installation of the platform that will be operating the field belonging to Pemex’s Maloob in 269 feet of water. Construction has begun on the rolling of pipe and tubulars at Morgan City, La. Facility.


The platform will then be moved down to the Mexico shipyard in April for fabrication. The contract will be completed in the first quarter of 2009 and has been estimated to increase oil production by 52,000 b/d. The platform will be designed to sustain 18 wells and weigh just over 2,500 short tons.
