The New Cat Tl-series Telehandler 23/01/2008
The Telehandler section of the construction industry is still a growing and developing market with lots of room for expansion of new designs and improvements in the telehandler division. Caterpillar are working on new models and looking to introduce break through models that can increase their edge in this unfolding market place. The latest offering from Caterpillar telehandlers are four new models they introduced last year that are becoming increasingly popular and bringing the worldwide respected yellow brand colour of Caterpillar to telehandler machines. The four models are designed mostly for the North American market, the models the TL642, the TL943 and the TL1055 and the TL1255 Caterpillar telehandler feature high performance and ease of control and greater versatility. The TL1255 Caterpillar telehandler comes with a capacity range of 6,500 pounds to 12,000 pounds and have maximum lift heights of 42 feet to 55 feet.
Under the alliance agreement with JLG industries that Caterpillar forged a few years ago, the Caterpillar telehandlers will be manufactured under JLG industries. The four new machines will be replace the predecessor the B-series machines that were manufactured previously by Caterpillar. The two smaller B-series machines like the Cat Th220B and the TH330B will be still be manufactured for the North American market. The largest telehandler that comes with Caterpillars name but manufactured by JLG is the TL1255 Cat telehandler. The Cat telehandler comes with a greater capacity of any of the B-series machines, the lifting capacity is 12,000 pounds and the maximum lift height is 55 feet. The TL1055 has a lift capacity of 10,000 pounds and a maximum lift height of 43 feet. The smallest of the TL series is the TL642 which comes with 6,500 pound lift capacity and a 42 foot maximum lift height. The four Caterpillar telehandlers come with Caterpillar engines and feature efficient hydraulic pumps that deliver full hydraulic power even at low engine speeds.
