Access Platforms Steal The Show At Uk Plant Show 15/04/2008
At the UK plant show aerial access platforms were the biggest exhibitors on display with only a few cranes and excavators filling out the rest. With a whole host of exhibitors showcasing their access platforms, the variety was unbeatable. The once a year UK plant show is held in Milton Keynes and last months show was a low one for crane manufacturers who only feel the need to exhibit their latest cranes once every two years. Some of this years exhibitors were Grove platforms, Genie access platforms, Niftylift, Manitou, Maxlift, Priestman and Skyking.
Grove platform showcased four new products, the Grove platform electric scissor lifts SM 246E and SM 324E, which have working heights of 7.9 m and 9.8 m. There was a Grove straight boom platform MZ 66DXT and a MZ 72DXT Grove platform, with working heights of 20 m and 21.9 m each. The MZ 72DXT also featured a articulating jib that has 120 o of movement. The access platform products that won four silver medals were Genies Z45/25 articulated boomlift with jib option, Nifitylifts 140H trailer mounted platform and Manitous 170ATT access platform. The first access platform equipment to be shown in the UK was presented by Access Industries Group which showcased three truck mounted platforms. The largest was the 40m Multitel J340 TA and a brand new Multitel J221 ALU which was on display as well as a 10m scissor lift truck mounted platform. Another platform not shown before in the UK was the Bronto S43MDT and Dino 180TM trucks and a Dino 180XT trailer.
